Under the name “GOLF&NATUR”, the German Golf Association has developed a voluntary and proactive quality and environmental certification scheme for golf courses, which covers both quality and environmental aspects. The environmental certificate covers all relevant aspects that contribute to ensuring quality in the management of a golf course and to the environmentally responsible use of natural resources.
For DAS ACHENTAL, this means transparency, enabling processes to be organised more effectively, cost-consciously and sustainably.

In summary, ‘GOLF&NATUR’ means:
Optimal playing conditions, modern environmental management, legal certainty, resource conservation, improved quality and sustainability, all combined in a systematic approach

One of our projects last year was the creation of a wildflower meadow alongside our driving range. Furthermore, to raise awareness of the protection of native bees, we took part in the “Bee Week” campaign launched by the Bavarian Golf Association.

Since spring 2023, satellite-based vegetation and soil moisture measurements have been carried out at the Das Achental golf course at the highest resolution and frequency. This innovative method of irrigating the course provides the golf course team with a comprehensive overview of the condition of the vegetation and the water saturation levels across the entire course. Changes can thus be identified, and appropriate measures can be precisely targeted. The system ensures a reduction in water consumption and improved turf quality. Furthermore, the technology allows the team to look back as far as 2018 and track the course’s development. It is no coincidence that the course is one of the ‘Leading Golf Clubs of Germany’, which stand for uncompromising quality and warm hospitality of the highest standard.
