Stories from the season
ACHENTAL OPEN 2025
For two days, our course was the centre of attention at this year’s Achental Open and looked its very best. Perfectly maintained fairways and impressive sporting performances delighted everyone. We would like to thank all the players who once again made this tournament a highlight of our golfing season. We would particularly like to congratulate our gross winners: Alexandra Strasse, who confidently claimed the ladies’ title with impressive rounds of 81 and 84 strokes, and Fabian Kleinsasser, who secured victory in the men’s competition with scores of 80 and 78 strokes. We are already looking forward to the Achental Open 2026.

AKTIV HOTEL AWARD 2022
Das Achental in Grassau on Lake Chiemsee (Germany) won the Golf award category. Adjacent to the hotel grounds is the PGA Premium Golf School and Academy, a performance studio for swing analysis, a club-fitting centre, a partially heated driving range, and its own 18-hole golf course, idyllically situated between the Bavarian mountains and Lake Chiemsee. The course is a masterpiece by the renowned golf course architect Thomas Himmel. In addition to being awarded the title of ‘5-Star Superior Golf Resort’ by the Federal Association of Golf Resorts, the resort has also been honoured with the ‘Leading Golf Clubs of Germany’ seal of quality.
GOLF POST COMMUNITY AWARD
Now in its sixth year, Golf Post – the digital home for all golfers – is presenting the Community Award, the only accolade in the golfing world that is not awarded by a jury but by passionate golfers themselves. That’s what makes the prize so special! A total of over 10,000 reviews were submitted, on which the voting is based. This provides a representative picture of the golf clubs that golfers consider particularly worth playing at. And we’re on the list! Special thanks, of course, go to everyone who voted for us and helped put us on the list of Germany’s most recommended golf clubs. We wish you all the best on the course and look forward to seeing you.”
GOLF AND NATURE AT LAKE CHIEMSEE
The German Golf Association has developed a voluntary and proactive quality and environmental certification scheme for golf courses under the name ‘GOLF&NATUR’, which covers both quality and environmental aspects. The environmental certification covers all relevant aspects that contribute to ensuring quality in the management of a golf course and to the environmentally responsible use of natural resources.
