Experienced paragliders know the best spots to launch their gliders and soar into the mountain air of the Chiemgau region. If you’re new to the sport – or simply curious – here are a few tips to help you get started with paragliding. ‘Hike and fly’ is one way to try out flying. However, a tandem flight is often the first step in a paragliding career. Some of the Chiemgau mountain cable cars have a launch pad for paragliders at the top station.
The thermal conditions in the Chiemgau region are also perfect for hot-air balloons and gliders on many days.

Bavaria’s largest lake, the Chiemsee, is not called the ‘Bavarian Sea’ for nothing. Holidaymakers and locals alike love it for its size and the unforgettable, sweeping views of the Chiemgau Alps. From beach bars to cycle routes, lakeside cafés to boat hire, water sports and leisure are equally at home here. But without its nearly 50 smaller counterparts, Chiemsee wouldn’t be what it is. Lake Waginger, for example, is the warmest lake in Upper Bavaria. When wanderlust strikes: how about a detour to ‘Little Canada’ – as the locals call the Three Lakes region between Ruhpolding and Reit im Winkl.

Stunning mountain scenery and the sun glistening on the crystal-clear water make your boat trip on Lake Chiemsee a truly unique experience. Relax on the spacious sun deck and leave the stresses of everyday life behind; our responsible skipper will take care of everything. Choose either one of the suggested routes on the website or customise your boat trip to suit your own preferences.
