The golf course

Until now, the European Golf Association (EGA) handicap system provided for six different handicap tee colours: Black, white, yellow, blue, red and orange. In 2018, the German Golf Association (DGV) decided to introduce so-called junior tees ("green" tees).

The aim of the junior tees:
The junior tees are intended to make it easier for golf beginners and children to get into golf and the game with a handicap. The shortened fairways enable them to reach the green in regulation despite the shorter driving distance. As a result, their understanding of the game can be trained at an early stage and orientated towards the usual scoring system - birdie, par, bogey, etc. Players can achieve significantly better results from the junior tees and are thus motivated and have more fun with the game.

Authorisation to play: The junior tees are of course open to all golf beginners and children with a licence to play.

Children without a licence to play golf may play on the junior tees if they have at least the "Silver Golf Badge" and are accompanied by an adult (or older young person) with a handicap of 36 or better.

Beginners and young children in particular often need more time for their game than experienced golfers. This is completely normal and should also be accepted by the better players. Nevertheless, the game must continue to run smoothly. It is therefore requested that, if possible, the junior tees play with children without course authorisation at times when the course is not particularly busy. This also takes the pressure off the children due to flights moving up, which makes every beginner, including adults, nervous.Playing with children without a licence is therefore only permitted at times when no tee times are booked.
